With my diverse background, experience, and education I am able to offer a wide range of services to my clients. For additional information on my services and how they fit your needs, please contact our office at (305) 856-7676.
The role of parenting is very intense and has a significant impact on the developing child starting at birth. It is important to foster bonding between
the caregiver and the baby that promotes optimal development, building attachment and nurtures emotional regulation essential during the infancy and toddlerhood periods.
I work with adolescents and adults to help foster their talents and provide the social support during the period of identity formation.
I help adults work through periods of depression and anxiety, reach their personal goals, and improve self-esteem and self-confidence.
I work with parents to help guide them in their new roles to improve parenting skills and build parenting compentency.
With couples, I help to identify the behaviors and underlying emotions that cause conflicts and to help build better communication.
When a stressful or traumatic event occurs, it may get locked in the nervous system and lead to PTSD, anxiety or panic attacks, and other reactions that are debilitating. I can help process the long-term impact and diminish the negative emotionality from these events.
One specialty of my practice is psycho-social services in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Part of these services is assisting new parents and their family in the journey from NICU or maternity ward, to going home. Each step in the journey has its own stress that needs to be addressed in order to help the baby, parents, and the extended family adjust to the new life.
I help parents during all phases of the adoption process, including pre and post adoption counseling, adoption preparation and evalutions.
After many years as a teacher, administrator of programs and clinical psychologist I have developed a specialty in consulting and training for programs that provide educational or health services. I assist various social and community programs with their design and administration, organization and growth.
The first and most important task of parenting is fostering an emotional bond between baby and parent called Attachment. A secure Attachment bond is essential to optimize your baby's development. It provides a life-long sense of security and wellbeing, while building trust. It is the cornerstone of emotional, behavioral and physical development.
